1.2 cam chain question

We're in the process of buying a 2006 K12 1.2 Spirita for my girlfriend to replace her K11 1.3 after it failed the MOT due to having no floor left from corrosion.

I've read a few horror stories about the cam chain stretching on this engine, but what's the best way to prevent it?

The Honest John website advises to change the oil every 6 months to prevent it, but is that actually going to help?

I'm guessing I'd have to just change the oil myself between the official garage services.

Hi, there as not realy been a problem with the 2006 micra except for rear oxy sensors, just change oil every 12 months or 12500 as service book says, the earlyer 2003 ones was needing a service every 9000 12 months

yer that right not realy had any problems apart from o2 sensors and stay with the service scedule what nissan specifie
