If you take the disc off, cut the old boot off, then clamp grips onto the driveshaft you can then tap it free from the CV, then all you need to remove are the 2 strut bolts, then you can put a new boot on.

My 1.3 does 40+ mpg, usually around 46 mpg but I don't drive that hard these days, perhaps I'd dip into high 30's if I drove hard. How do you drive yours?
That'll be the cheaper version without the remote release, not sure why anyone would prefer the one requiring a key over the remote one.

That's correct. The immobiliser chip is in the key part, that will need programming to your car if it isn't already. The separate central locking function can be matched to your car by yourself.
Not sure about alarm keys. Do you have this type key fob?

MOT failure, one of the rear springs was broken :eek: I think it may have been on a nasty patch of the Snake Pass were all the road had sunken, I wonder how many other cars sustained damage at the same place.
