You can never have too many cars. I don't care what my mum says. Nice bargain there. :) Chris.

fFITTING A 12V SOCKET TO MY NISSAN MICRA??

Hi @beatles2011, you have a couple of options. You could just wire it direct to a power source so its always on. A bit crude though. Ideally you only want it powered when the ignition is on, so I would tap the +12v into the radio power, and the black (-neg) can just be earthed on the...

    Where was it built?

    Maybe. :)

    Borked gearbox 2...

I use a 1/2 drive extention and an appropriate sized socket. It's not that hard really, give it a go. Chris.

Interesting point. @taylor1micra Is it getting fuel through? (Wet plugs, smelly etc) Chris.

    1.0 to 1.3 or 1.4 engine swap?

Quick summary, what have you swapped in, and what have you tried so far? Was this engine (the whole setup) running before you fitted it? Any diag codes / OBD2 data? Chris.

help please anyone got engine noise vid of chain at bottom of post

@Se@n If you take the belts off and run it, that's going to answer the question. PS pumps generally make a lot of noise as they are dying, but an alternator might give the sort of noise you're hearing. No idea on chain tensioning, it was just a wild guess tbph. Get that Haynes out! C.

Used micra, 16k miles, few issues, not sure whether to buy?

Sorry, but if in doubt walk away. There are lots of Micras out there for sale, spend a few more shekels and get one without the baggage. I bought the yellow 3 door for £300 I think, nothing wrong with is aside from some peeling lacquer. Don't buy a load of work off someone. Just my...

help please anyone got engine noise vid of chain at bottom of post

Then my money would be on timing chain, possibly tensioner issue. I would be tempted to pop some covers off and at least have a peek, save you causing any serious damage to your engine. C.

    Borked gearbox 2...

Luk clutches, German tech, really good quality. I use them on the 3.0 V6 swaps and they are pretty damn good. And if its just the driveshaft seal you're talking about, dig out the old one with a big screwdriver, and fit new one with a socket of the same size. Chris.

help please anyone got engine noise vid of chain at bottom of post

Difficult to tell from that video, but if the noise increases and decreases at standing when you rev the engine its likely engine side not gearbox. Maybe another video with someone revving the engine a little? Does the noise change when you hold the Clutch down? Is it louder at first when the...

    Borked gearbox 2...

@ndndndnd This is pic of a regular pressure plate. I'm guessing @frank means one of the metal spring straps. (Pictured), which is probably a good guess. Ideally you need to get the box off and inspect everything. Catch any bits that fall out when you split the box from the engine...

    Throttle Body Or What.....?

@Kenshiro San I don't know much about K12 tech, but I do love a good witch hunt for car niggles. So here's some ideas:- Air leak - drawing air in on the intake side Earth issue - bad earth's can cause the same erratic behaviour you describe. Fuel starvation - not enough fuel will make the...

what did you do to your micra today ?

@mikebeal Nice work! Just had a quick look on your build thread as I would like to do this to my pickup project. Any pics of the chassis cut / engine mount fabrication? I quite intrigued by the process. :) Chris.

    K11: Ballin on a budget!

Oh its not for sale, its for free. I've a bunch of stuff that I posted up as no longer required by me owing to the roof chop. https://www.micra.org.uk/index.php?threads/65332/ :)

    K11: Ballin on a budget!

Nice work on the parcel shelf. Get it finished, borrow a mouse sander off someone to save on elbow grease. Also I've got a rear brake light if you want it, although that fix is pretty good. :) Chris.
