Erm, if its smashed a hole in the bell housing then you probably have metal inside. For me that would be a gearbox swap, unless you want to pay to get someone to dismantle And inspect? But I know which will cost less. Chris.

Hi, Good pics, but i cant reconcile what that last plug in the last pic is for, so lets ignore that. Firstly you need one of these. I's a test bulb, you clip it onto a good earth, then use the pointy end to test if something is 12v. Even better would be a multimeter but we may be getting...

That debris does look like it could be one of the straps, meaning the Clutch is also buggered. If the strap came loose it would have spun round and hit the bell housing. You need to get the Clutch off and inspect it really. Chris.

And some more done today. First get the side panel from a 44u data cabinet and butcher it. This is the bit I want, comes with bracing already tacked in! A few test fits and subsequent tweaks. Voilà! Also trimmed these to suit. Off to the pub now. :) Chris.

Nice work! The alloy expanded stuff I used was £8 for enough to do both vents. Then I discovered guttering guard - the stuff you tuck in roof guttering on your house to stop leaves getting in. Much cheaper and probably looks just as good...

Easiest method is probably crimp connectors. You don't need to cut any wires, simply fit the crimp over the wire you are tapping into, and insert your other wire into the other side, then squeeze with a decent pair of pliers. Give it a tug test to make sure its sound and you are good to...

After piddling around with Halfrauds trolley jacks for a couple of years I finally bit the bullet and bought a Draper 3 ton. It's basically an industrial one, not a hobby one, but I can jack anything up, and get the car high enough to plop straight onto ramps. £100, but worth every penny...

So, finally got some quality time alone with the Micra. Picked up a bigger 'weld dresser' at Newark the other weekend. Got the welding ground off and threw some primer on. And welded in some bulkhead bars. Hopefully tomorrow I will get the bulkhead wall welded in! Chris.
