    Gettin' my top off

Finally got some play time in the Bodgelair..... Cage lightly bolted in place. Seats refitted. That's probably going to be it for now, will be moving it to the lockup at the weekend hopefully so I can get a couple of other projects sorted. In the meantime I have some paperwork...

    Lowering springs

It's a Bodge, that's no doubt. You change the characteristics of the spring by chopping a bit off. That being said, I will be cutting mine on the pickup when it's done. Figure I could buy a couple of sets and feck about until I got it where I wanted it. :) Chris.

    Battery relocation

I went with a show cage for the pickup, but I will be losing the brackets and welding all together. Plus I can add a front section and door bars if I want to go full Monty. Chris.

    k11 1.0L Driveshaft change

Good tips. Worth investing in the updated WSM to give you all the basic steps. And if you don't have a breaker bar, a decent metal pole on the end of a socket wrench will do just fine, long as it gives you a better lever. Chris.

    I'm batch biccies!!

@Antony the only bit I don't get is where your wife is two people not one? Shame when you have to rethink your plans, but you can always regroup and pickup later. Chris.

    Spotted

Currently in Corsica, I haven't seen many Micras as they all drive French crap. Even my hire car which was supposed to be "VW Polo or similar" turned out to be a 208. I did spot this well lived in example in Bonifacio today...... Chris.

    Cone filter

Okay two questions there! Firstly yes, you can use a cone air filter (I call them K&N type) and an oil breather filter. Much simpler solution. Lots of people do this, but sometimes the filter still allows dirty gasses into the engine bay, which makes the engine bay dirty. Secondly yes, you...

    Cone filter

Yes you can. But as I mentioned further up, the breather from the engine (crank case ventilation) will chuck out oily hot air. With a standard air box, that air gets sucked back into the engine and recycled. If you fit an aftermarket air filter / cone filter etc the breather gasses are not...

    Cone filter

    Battery discharging too fast

Yup, new battery time. Batteries do strange things when they start to fail, I have had a couple recently that charged fine, tested fine on the bench, stood on the bench charged for days and the minute you open the bonnet they start to discharge. Fit them to a car, apply any sort of load, and...

    Seat lowering tips?

Just been reading up on seat lowering. A lot of people opting for chopping foam out but does anyone have a real world example of the seat base being cut and re-welded? I would like to keep the stock seats, but I've also got a nice pair of Celica Gen7 leather seats I could use. I would...

Got the bulkhead finished and ground down. Refitted the seatbelts and drivers seat to check spacing. So far so good. Chris.

If you look at the pic though, I'm not convinced that the hole goes into the gearbox. It may just have compromised the thread.

    Micra 95reg

Hi @zooma, got your PM. Is the new ECU you have deffo not an immobilised version? If in doubt, nag the Nissan garage and they should be able to confirm the part number and what the ECU was fitted to etc. I will try and help, I've got the wsm and lots of wiring diagrams but a pic of both...

what did you do to your micra today ?

Holy crap you could have been at JAE in about an hour. Maybe we need a map of who is where, that way you will know just where all the Micra dudes and dudetes are. :) Chris.
