Need help with the optical sensor

Not a huge amount has happened with the track car - life's sort of been occupied by other things. I've been doing little bits here and there on it but it's slow going. Motivation is key and I haven't had much this past year. Still need to buy you a beer or two for bringing all that **** down for...

Need help with the optical sensor

I thought I'd typed a response in here, but I'd say you're probably better off building a small circuit around a voltage reg like that since regular resistors depend on the load they're put under (or something like that.. it's been a while :P) I'd really like to know as I've got to do the same...

    WTB: Carbon/Fibre Glass Bonnet

Just as a reference, the carbon fibre bonnet that's been floating around australia on different micras for years was originally imported by the member '2' that used to frequent these forums. From memory, he said it cost about $1200 landed. As for making one yourself, there's much...

    Normal tuneup or dyno tuneup

Years ago I put a set of hurricane headers and a 2" mandrel-bent system with a hi-flow cat on the micra I drive daily and didn't change any fuelling. For a couple of years I even had a cold air intake system on it, but use the stock intake on it now. At no point did I have any problems and the...

    Your oppinion :)

If it's from a Micra built in 2000, it's most likely a <a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/69/Nissan_Micra_front_20081017.jpg">facelifted</a> model. To fit this kind of bumper to a <a href="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3502/3247117599_6176c0126f.jpg">pre-facelifted</a>...

    RE.GTR ABOUT NISMO N1 DISTRIBUTOR...

This is a very old thread (~5 years old) and you very likely won't get responses from the original posters in here. From memory, the Nismo ECU set up (with throttlebody, Dizzy, etc.) that GTRHOLIC had got passed around to various people but to my knowledge, did not get installed by anyone. If...

    Spotted thread

It also says he's only had the car since late last year, so he probably hasn't been on here long. Some of his comments would also be misleading for someone who doesn't know much about forums and buys the car expecting to purchase some of the stuff he had intended to get for it. ---dens

Need Help with my EMS 4860

That might not necessarily be the same optical sensor as the one we have in our cars. That's a document from the EMS site, isn't it? There's a few different types of distributors used in K11's (Bosch, Mitsubishi and others) and undoubtedly there will be subtle differences between each of them...

Need Help with my EMS 4860

I believe it's only an optical sensor and with blocking off the hole like you mentioned that you did earlier, you're still not getting a signal from it? I'm pretty sure aaron (evade) ran it like that when he initially set his EMS Stinger ECU and he then later got a custom-made disc made up with...

    PCD 100 to PCD 114

If they're not hub-centric you can get hub rings on ebay to make them fit around the hub. I imagine it would be quite hard to find the right hub diameter, spacer thickness and the right PCDs all in the one thing. Like said, you'd almost be better of getting them custom-made :P ---dens

    PCD 100 to PCD 114

Your easiest option would be to get a set of hub adapters. They're not made for specific models but instead, specific PCDs. They'll probably be 25MM and look and function the same as bolt-on spacers but the PCD the wheel bolts onto will be different to the PCD of your hub. You wouldn't bother...

What Air Flow meter to use for Turbo project??

A MAF (Mass Air Flow) or AFM (Air Flow Meter) both measure the mass/volume of the air in the intake. We're talking about <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAP_sensor">MAP</a> vs <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_flow_meter">AFM</a>. The difference being that the MAP sensor calculates...
