You can get a pack of o rings the right size from B&Q for about £1 or £2 :) Given its age i would change it ....mine was brittle and a new o ring made a big difference to tickover. Also I dabbed a little oil from the dipstick on the o ring so it seated nicely.

This was the cross member I bought ...... Its not the highest quality .... but they rot so didnt see any point in buying anything really expensive and once on its solid...

The car is a bit of a wreck ... but solid (apart from that cross member) and runs sweet .... and only cost me £165 with a years MOT on it ..... had to replace CV joint, remove the choke waxstat, fix the squeaking windscreen wipers and it runs sweet as a nut ...... so a years motoring for £177.00...

In my humble opinion there are plenty of bolts holding the cross member on ... 3 on each end of the bumper and another two either end of the section ......and its a flimsy piece of metal anyway with little strength to it .... and once you have coated it in under seal .... who would know ...

Well I decided as it was sunny to change the front cross member on the 1.0l K11 yesterday as it was listed as dangerous on last years MOT. Just wanted to comment on a few things that may help others. I bought a cheap replacement crossmember on ebay for about £25.00 You will need ..... socket...

Hi guys Been sorting out the idle on the 1.0l and just taken the waxstat off which has improved things, also re soldered the Throttle body but noticed when cleaning the ICV that the o rings a bit stretched which i think is why i am struggling to get the idle down. I reckon its about 850rpm...

National Tyres are doing a deal ... buy one get one free ...... £20 each .... disposal balancing and new valves is extra .... or look on fleaybay .... people often sell the spare wheels with a new tyre on for a few quid.

Depending on the prices..... I would be interested in the following if you break the car. Wheels and tyres ... need 3 or 4 with good tread. front lights Bonnet as long as it will fit a 4 door. NSF Passenger front wing Seats if in good nick. maybe a few other odds n ends .... like wipers...

Well I am going to call it the Magic Micra. I turned on wipers today and all there is is a tiny squeak ... so i guess all the silicone lube, oil and grease has worked its way in overnight ...... result :)

And presently ... last thing i need is wipers lol

I reckon your right .... There are a few on fleabay .. but if i go down a breakers i will pick one up half the price.

Did try to get spindles out of plastic housing but after hitting it with a hammer quite a few times i think its more likely i would break the plastic housing.....
