I didn't get a handbook with this car: I got the car and one key, and that was it. :) I'll have a gander elsewhere.

The header says it all really. I don't think the oil has been checked in my K11 since it was new, and since then it's done 106K so it's probably due replacement. Any suggestions?

I gave mine a wash, and was very happy that none of the bodywork fell off :)

Strip the interior out as much as you can: Junk the rear seats and seatbelts, strip out the front carpets and all the sound proofing. That lightens it for a kick off, and that bit is FREE! (or even cheaper if you sell the bits you take out!)

If you want to check just jack up the front wheels and give try to them: If you get movement and a knocking sound when you do that you may have a shot Track Rod End. That's how I found out. It was only one, but I changed both just to be on the safe side.

Interested in the Exhaust Manifold. does it fit a 1.0? And do you ever get out East Herts way?

Well, I did it! I feel quite pleased with myself because it took less than 90 minutes even WITH the break for advice from a more competent Spannerman than I. Now there are NO more nasty vibrations from the front end! :D

Changed the Track Rod Ends on mine today. I'm always apprehensive about doing ANYTHING mechanical to my car, but I had to do it. All good, no rattles any more, no vibration through the steering wheel! Now to get it tracked up (tomorrow is the earliest I could manage) and that's another small job...

Please note the capitalised "Should", because I'm a Nihilist my nature tends towards the worst case scenario. ;) Also, are there any hints/tricks/tips/shortcuts anyone can give me that make the job easier? I am a Mechanical Luddite.

Are the hinges the same on the front and back doors on a 5 Door K11? I was just wondering if I could swap the back hinges for the saggy fronts. Anyone know?

Any DIN radio should fit. I have a Pioneer in my K11.

Is there a "How To" guide for fitting longer studs?

I'm worried the studs may not be long enough to get the nuts on properly.

Well, the scabby wheels seem to fit flush. Not sure how to get the studs longer: Can you get deep wheel nuts? These are 5 1/2J 14: I could use standard size tyres! :D
