    Maybe not such a bargain

Just think of it as an opportunity to bond with your car.

    Tire width

I think 195/45 15 will fit. You will fit wider with a lower offset wheel and rolling / pulling arches; though I don't think a Micra needs more than 195 mm of rubber on the road. Depends what you are aiming for of course.

    The 1.3 Turbo Battle####

An oil cooler would increase your oil volume and lessen the effect of any water contamination. Plus I'm guessing with a turbo Micra you change your oil every six months anyway...

    My little Micra

Nice job. Keep going with a good degreaser and a stiff brush to get the muck off. You could always try a bit of petrol on a rag, that will lift all kinds of crud.

    Wanted: 98-00 1 litre gearbox

Yes, should have said I was thinking of the post 2000 ones with the less favourable ratios but still compatible.

    Wanted: 98-00 1 litre gearbox

Yeah, I want it for sprints. Though now I know I can swap the speedo drive I would try any 1 litre box.

    Wanted: 98-00 1 litre gearbox

Hmm ok maybe I'm wrong. I thought there was a guy a couple of months ago who ended up with a mechanical when he wanted an electronic.

    Wanted: 98-00 1 litre gearbox

As per the title I am after a 1.0 gearbox for my '96 1.3 K11 - so needs to be the 1998 to 2000 type 30, for the larger type drive shafts and with mechanical speedo drive. I can collect from within a reasonable distance of central Southern England (Portsmouth), and occasionally I will be around...

    cutting coils

Start with 1 coil. Angle grinder, check a Haynes manual if you haven't done it before. See what you think. Cut another one of you wish. Load of guides / threads on here. Good luck!

    1 litre gearbox top speed

165 if you can spin it to 9.5k! Though you'd need more than double the power output to get there. Limiting factor may well be whether the box can take it; I think frank ran a 1 litre at 9k+ rpm on a standard box. Try it, boxes aren't too expensive!

    Wheel alignment

Usually crack the nuts at either end of the track rod, then turn the threaded rod using the flats in the middle. Winding it one way or the other will increase/decrease your toe angle. It's helpful to put the wheel on some kind of swivel or low-friction plate too, so it's easier to turn. Edit...

TOST - The Official Spam Thread

If it's leaking around where the top panel is crimped to the rad then you can seal it with superglue. Otherwise a big supermarket or petrol station is your best bet.

    Insurance for first time

Endsleigh are fine until you need to claim and they reveal themselves to be a bunch of useless chimps. Have you tried a broker like flux or even one on the high street? They are sometimes surprisingly competitive.
