the 1.3 auto blocks are supposedly stronger/better for boosting as they have a closed deck design to prevent coreshift.

So if I've read both threads right.... it doesn't matter if you've got an open or closed deck for forced induction, it only really matters when it comes to high rpm

both i guess karl, and heat transfer reasons maybe ? (slowing the coolant down to avoid hotspots)

Apparently the 1.3 I've got is auto block... Looks like every other open cg block I've seen.though. nice to have a thread with some more detail on it now

Correct, except they are semi-closed blocks.
