The three plugs on the back of each cluster is the same, but the pins are in different spots.

I'm not gonna part with $300 for an auto sparky to rewire the plugs, so if someone knows where i can get a wiring diagram for each cluster it would be lurvly.

Here are some pics of the front and back of each cluster.
I even labelled them front and back.. just in case..

Oh and excuse my rudeness..

My Names Larry, first post here and i'm already asking for help.

I have a tropical green 95 lx, no mods really other then a pod filter and soon to fit this super s dash.

I have some 15x6 inch wheels that are getting powder coated dark grey, and i have some cluster style lights on the way, as seen in the attached picture.

I have an adjustable panhard rod on order, will get springs soon after and might invest in swaybars and a strut brace but not sure as micra is just a daily driver while i build up my s13.

Wouldn't really think too much about it - but since those clusters didn't have reverse lights.. unless you added some yourself I can't see them being 100% legal. That said, I really wouldn't worry too much if I were you :p

If you manage to get the Super-S cluster working, i'm sure a few people will be eager to find out how you did it ;)

I dont think it will be too difficult really. If i can get hold of the wiring diagram for the aussie cluster, i can use masking tape and label each wire, then pull them out of the plugs.

Then by following the jap cluster diagram i can put them in the right spots.

It most likely wont be this easy, as thats the way things go.

Ill be sure to update this post with my progress so others can use the info, or just enjoy reading about my failure.

I'm glad you mentioned the reverse lights, as i didnt even think of it. I might look at fitting some small round lights into the bumper, should look pretty neat.

Another option would be to change the indicater lens with a clear lens and use orange bulbs. Then i could fit the revers lights into the same lens. Migh be an option, will have to wait till i get to that point.

There is always the option of poking around in the wires and testing to see what kind of readings you get from each wire. Speedo cable should be a straight swapover i'm imagining.

I've been having a look at each of them side by side and it's a real shame that they don't straight swap over - there are exactly the same plugs (albeit in different places on the PCB) but it would really be perfect if it were just a case of plug and go. I'd almost be tempted to try it, but i'm pretty sure a few people already have tried.

Ah well, even if it does require rewiring, it'll be good to have a working tacho. The sender to the tacho should just be a single wire, and even if it's on a different pin, i'm pretty sure even LX harnesses had the ability to send a tacho signal to one of the pins on the plug.

Good luck, and let us know how you go ;)

hi, before you part with your 300 bucks, DONT BOTHER! ive done it and it doesnt work. the tacho works, the speedo works, it seems other things are ok but, the fuel gauge and temp gauge do not work properly. i spent loads on a japanese fuel sender, and japanese temp sensor but nothing fixed the readings. if you can live with that or if anyone wants a japanese cluster, i have 3 with tachos. $50 bucks each. i got the japanese wiring diagram somewhere too. but in cairns at the moment.

I mapped all the wires, traced all the connections and have it all worked out.

The only issue is with the guages as they wont read correclty even if you wire them in right.

I'm no electrician, so i dont know the terminology.

I know someone whos damn good with electronics, so ill ask him about it and post any results here.

Lights are painted and about to be fitted.

I've decided to buy clear indicator lenses and mount them on the rearend somewhere to use as reverse lights. Havent quite figured out where, but its probably the best option and will fit in wit the round lens theme.

Recently fitted whiteline adjustable panhard bar.

Springs and Strut Brace ar next, but i have to sort the exhaust out before i lower it, as our dodgy home muffler swap job knocks sometimes, so when its lowered it will be really bad.

I have a nice stainless aprilia 1000 muffler, from a duel system.
should sound nice, 2" all the way through.

I figured out where the bolero had the reverse lights in the centre of the bumper bar - a single square one. If you do some searching for the K11 bolero you'll find pics of how they fitted it. You could very easily retrofit a similar light if you like that look. The clear indicators are a good choice, too.

I made the bad decision to install all the suspension gear I got the day after I had my exhaust made up - needless to say the guys didn't take into account that the bit that goes over the rear axle would knock against the rear trailing arm mount. If you work around it more it'll be fine.

Haha, you're fitting a bike muffler to the car? That's awesome :p Won't be too restrictive or anything?

Nah, the bike muffler shouldnt restrict it any more then any other muffler.

Its a single muffler from a twin system, so its only going to do half the job the full system would of quieting an aprilia 1000.

Its 2 inch all the way through with a removeable restricter in the tip.

When i get the exhaust done, ill explain to the guys that i'm lowering it soon by about 40-50mm so they give it enough clearence.

The micra is my run about while i build up my s13, the s13 has been long in the build and i'm dying to workon something while i save for silvia parts. So i have to do things on a shoestring budget.
