It has been resprayed though, the wing mirrors were a reddy pink before I painted them black. The bonnet is starting to get a bit faded/oxidised on the front edge a bit too

I think u mean "UKDM as" as this seems to be a UK problem, I think they used house paint over there, Jap an Aussie built nissans have a lot better paint quality. I used 2pac paint on my paintjob but I didnt use clear over base paint, solid paint will last twice as long as clear
