Wiper Arms

I need to remove my wiper arms as they're badly in need of a touch up - however they're stuck! I've obviously taken the nut off but i cant seem to shift them at all. Has anyone got any tips on how to free them? I dont wanna force them too much incase they bend or break anything attached to the motor etc etc.

lift thenm up nand then shut them bck down to the window then turn it as if it is wiping they come off that way
