Windscreen wipers not working, stopped 1/3 of the way :(

They started stopping (as if they were sticking) about a 1/4 through the up-wipe on intermittent setting but changing them to the slow/fast constant made them move again. They 'stuck' again and now they dont move on any setting The arms cant be moved manually easily, havent tried pushing them too hard as i dont want them to snap lol. When the wipers are turned on the motor or wiper motor amplifier (not sure which) is making a click. Does anyone know whats up or how to fix it? currently im at my mates and my wipers are about 1/3 the way up my windscreen and its been raining on and off a fair bit today, plus ive got to work tomorrow but cant drive with no wipers really :S

update: just found out its a dodgy connection - the black wire going into the motor when wiggled the wipers work but sometimes the connection sparks :/ can this bee removed from the plug thing and cleaned up?
