Whining

I've recently started noticing a whining when driving, but when I turn my radio on mute it stops, I assume it's interference from somewhere, but not sure where.
Any advice on this much appreciated..

Probably the speakers or part of the circuit betweeen radio and speaker. I would check the connections behind the radio are firmly attached and in good condition. (especially if you have an aftermarket radio and who knows how the wiring is/was done)
If this is okay i would then check the speakers themselves.
All this is assuming that as you say the whining goes away when muting the radio.
