What would cause Ignition Control module repeatedly breaking?

i have 1995 micra 1.0 and i have replaced ignition control module 2 times, 1 non-OEM and 1 Lucas OEM part, and when i replaced OEM one i replaced also ignition coil, rotor, distributor cap and ht leads. it did work for maybe 2-3 hours just fine but then it started randomly jerking. later i got fault code from camshaft position sensor. only thing i think what could have caused this is i didn't put silicone grease (which came with control module) between the metal plate and ignition control module.

Thanks for help in advance

Hi, thanks for reply.

I didn't get any instructions with lucas/OEM one? Only module and that heat sink paste.
Is there any possibility the wires are causing this? For example bad connection somewhere?
Also what is that cylindrical thing on outside the distributor?
Is it capacitor or ballast resistor? Do they usually fail?

The heat sink paste is essential for the mounting of the electronic module.

Capacitor is on the outside of the distributer.

No spark distributer issues are usually quickly & efficiently resolved by its total replacement.

Someone on here may sell you a complete good used distributer that is surplus stock.

With such an old car, 1995, the wiring earth connections may be corroded, loose, snapped off, & or perished on the engine, gearbox, bulkheads & battery as well as all of the distributer connections; any of which may cause power voltage anomalies.
