Hi Guys,
Its been a while since I last posted on this site. My car has been running great for the last 6 months or so but just recently in the last month I've been having issues with it.
When starting the car the idle is high which is normal as I understand and when its warm the idle sits at around 680-720 rpm, but when I've been out in the car around town and come to a stop the idle doesn't always sit at 680-720 rpm its got a habit of increasing the revs and idling at around 1000 plus rpm. This problem will go away if I press the accelerator and the engine is revved to about 3000-3500 rpm for a second or two, after doing that the idle returns to normal.
On a few occasions stopping at traffic lights if I have the brake pedal pressed the revs drop a little and the car sounds and feels like it wants to stall, it never does but these problems have got me baffled. I've changed the oil, fuel filter, air filter and spark plugs since this all started and the problem is still there.
My car is a 1.0L facelift 2002 Tempest, Any help or pointers as to what the problem might be would be greatly appreciated.
