vehicle check

Were is the best place to see online a vehicles details etc?
Been pulled again this morning as the nice gentle men discribed to me and asked if my nissan micra was previously a peugeot 309.
and erm unless it been on a mega diet i dont think so..

Funny thing is i also got a v11 form throught he other day (retaxing form) and the car is taxed
So i dismised it as a booboo on their part with me only buying the car over a month ago.

Just thought i would do a little more checks. :S

Also would like to check on some of my previous cars etc.
make sure they are classed as scrapped etc!

dvla does a vehicle check from the reg plate, RAC does too, log in to the RAC site and click on MY RAC and you can do a vehicle check. Or alternativly the AA does a HPI check (think thats the name of it) Im sure the DVLA does this too but i believe it costs!

Free ones are http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/ and click on "Vehicle Enquiry" on the left. Need to give make of car on that one as well as reg. Also, like K10Daz says, www.rac.co.uk, you sign up and get free searches. Gives you enough info, though I'd take up the HPI check from Fordy.
