Vacuum Hose problem- help

Hey all, new to the forum sorry if this post is in the wrong section. I have 97 Micra and on the way to work this morning it just loat all power and stopped. cranks but will not start. i popped bonnet to find a small black (vacuum??) hose popped off the end of something. the end still attached comed from the passenger side of head/engine from a dual nipple that also has another identical hose that is yellow & black striped. maybe from the cam or something im not sure!! car is locked up on side of highway and i just couldnt find where this other end is meant to go to.. does anyone know where its popped off from and what this hose actually does???

Anybody at all have an idea of what this vacuum line does and if it would stop the car starting... its the plain black one next to the striped hose next to it.

sounds like a pipe from the evap system oosty, which wont affect the engine, you need to try a drop of fuel down the throttlebody and also check for a spark

Hey Frank, thanks mate. you're correct about checking spark, as it does not have any. My brother is pitting it on a car trailer now at bloody 11pm at night! will check dizzy, crank angle sensor tomorrow. Are there any common spark culprits with the Micra's that you suggest checking??

usually the dizzy eh, and the spark returns when its cooled down
