uh oh..... cam swap problems...

went out to swap my cam out of my 1.0 for the 1.3 i got the other day......

frigging thing mst have skipped a tooth somewhere,
had it at tdc on crank (second mark)
removed old cam after locking exhaust cam in place
installed new cam in same position as the old 1.0 one
eventually got it all back together
turned the key.....clatter
stripped rocker back off, timing marks all over the shop, re-timed it, rocker back on and still clatter, didn realise these were an interference engine..... now inlet cam will not move only a small amount id say iv bent a valve or two..... exhaust cam moves "freely" as i should


any ideas suggestions?? whip off the head and replace valves or just find a second hand engine and throw it in??
 
is there any chance that the cam i got might be too "aggesive" i assmed that a 94 st of cams wold be fine but the fact it was a jap import march??
