I'm trying to get some 195/45 R15 tyres. Only been able to find Yokohama C drive (A539 replacement) & Falken 512's.
Which one is better, are there any others worth considering?

I think they are both top brands so then it comes down to price.

Although my Micra is running Pirellis and my Maxima is running on Kumhos, I've always liked Goodyears.

Had Goodyears on my Pulsar and they lasted ages!

I have ze-512's on the front of mine (195/45 R14). Their very quite and smooth riding. They have a flimsy sidewall and very very soft compound, i accidentally lit one wheel up and made a mess of it (FLH) now all the tread had been pushed acroos over the grooves, whoops. I have mine @ 38psi as they just don't feel right at 34 or 36 > think the sidewalls can't take the high speed conering of a micra? I will not buy them again if i can, but may have to buy a set for the rear anyway unless i change rim size or get four new tyres due to the unique 45 profile on a 14" rim. I think reviews are mixed on them, and i think its due to a different compound being used on 45/50's as too 60's as they i believe they have different wear ratings > but that may be total fiction, see for yourself http://www.epinions.com/Falken_Ziex...y_~reviews/sec_~opinion_list/pp_~1/pa_~1#list

I have no experience of the yoko's. Try searching the mx5 wheel and suspension forums, here's a thread i found http://www.aus-cartalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=11091 some good info on their forums,

Alex

btw i'm not saying all falkens are crap. Seems the budget Ziex range is though. i have second hand experience :p of the Azenis range (RT215) and their a great semi-slick rubber, great price and on par with more expensive semi-slicks,

maybe try some 195/50 R15's? more choices their,

Alex
