Yup, it finally happened.
On the power up a hill, change gears and then nothing.
Got her home, took the inlet pipe off and was greeted with lots of tiny pieces.
I stripped the turbo as far as I can at night with a flashlight and 13 spanner, so will continue tomorrow after fetching my proper tool set from work.
I found a data plate on the turbo housing with 3 sets of numbers. I can't make out what is written next to them, It looks german.
They are top row: 40983H118218
Middle row: JB51132260201
Bottom row: 5435 970 0002
Which one do I need to give to the turbo repair people to get a replacement part?
What else do I replace? There are lots of turbo pieces in the intercooler. Replace or flush and re use?
Gaskets not included in a kit? Is there a kit?
While the thing is broken, are there bigger turbos that bolt on there? I have the 63 KW diesel as far as I can make out.
I am thinking of putting a bigger intercooler in now, good idea?
Any advice will be appreciated.
Cheers
