Well since I'm now getting into cars more i think it would be a good investment to get some proper tools for the job.

Have had a look at the information bit on the forum and from that i have purchased a socket set.

I now require a Torque wrench, would something like this do?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8032475343&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

Will need to get a spanner set, but is there any other specialised tool which will be required for working on the car.

Cheers

Hi there,

A 30mm socket is handy for taking off the front hub nuts if you need to do anything to your CVs or gearbox etc.

A multimeter and soldering iron are good for electrical issues.

If you need to fill your gearbox with oil, you will need a 3/8" drive ratchet, the ratchet itself opens the filler plug. Likewise, you will need a 1/2" drive ratchet for removing the gearbox drain plug. So if you already bought a socket set, then whatever drive ratchet you have will do one of the plugs, but not both.

Zip ties are always handy to have lying around!

108nM wont be enough to do some work on the car. Some suspension bits need 200 nM iirc.

I would say a good range would be 60-200.

You might also want to look into getting 3/8 to 1/2 drive convertors for it.

Also make sure the torque wrench is reversible, the larger bars are great for undoing nuts.
