JUST DISCOVERED TIMING CHAIN IN MY 52 PLATE MICRA SVE HAS TO BE REPLACED. CAR HAS ONLY DONE 46500 MILES. BEEN QUOTED £906 FROM GARAGE TO DO THIS JOB. HAS ANYBODY ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND IS IT WORTH CONTACTING NISSAN TO REPORT THIS PROBLEM. WILL THEY ASSIST WITH COST?

I guess you've got a big rattle coming from the engine?

That is low mileage to have a timing chain problem. Was the car serviced on a regular basis by Nissan? If so I would be asking them to come to the party.

First hand experience working for Nissan here in Australia. I can tell you, any engine mods and they wont submit an Out of Warranty request.
If your mods are limited, if any, book it in for a service, play dumb and mention your noise or concern. When they ring you with quote, hit them up to submit an Out of Warranty Request to Nissan UK. They can only say no... The service helps with leverage a bit.
