Time for engine removal

Hi all

got my haynes manual and it tells us to remove the engine underneath the car....

if i support the engine and remove the engine mounts and gearbox bolts that hold onto the engine, should i be able to lift the engine out of the bay?

i cant be bothered removing the suspension and the axels and lowering it as a complete engine/gearbox unit....

I got my engine out from the top.
You can pull it out with the whole gearbox mounted.

but can i leave the gearbox mounted in the car and just pull the engine out the top?

Shure, you can leave the gearbox in the car, if you want.

yeah, but so the gearbox is still attached to the car with all its bolts holding it in?

Just leave the right-hand engine mount still attached to the gearbox. You'll have to undo the rear engine mount from the gearbox (and the engine).

But make sure you support the gearbox from underneath with like jack with a block of wood on it etc.

im also going to change my clutch.. hope that wont be hard
