Thermostat

i have just received a new thermostat. It's a genuine Nissan part with the correct part number.
When I opened it I noticed it's rated at 88 degrees where's Nissan spec it at 82 degrees.

Should I fit it or send it back?

On a side note, I was wondering the other day about cold starting/running.
At what engine temp does the ECU start using the lambda and change the mixture to "normal" from a rich. Also, is it a gradual switch over or happen all at once when a certain engine temp is reached?

Mine starts closed looping within half a mile wehey, the lambda starts to output 0.1v after. About 10 secs then 0.2 etc, till it reaches 0.5ish then closed loops after that.
But the ecu is probably still running the coldstart table till the sensor is up to temp

As far as i know it may just be the type of thermostat , maybe the older ones had a more gradiual opening , openening At 82 and fully open well before 90 , where as the new one can open at 88 for 90 , theres loads of reasons why but like the others say itll be more than perfect , if not better , may just be a different wax used inside in the thermostat
