Temperature gauge

Hello to all once again, i´ve been having a problem with the temperature gauge from my micra, the problem is that the gauge sometimes goes to red and stays there until i have to tap the instrument cluster for it to go its normal position. I know it is a known problem of some clusters but i dont know how to fix it. Can anybody help?

Thanks for the reply climberjoel, i have already dissasembled and cleaned, it was ok for a few months but it started again. How did you fixed yours?
