TB Conversion with a immobilised Micra

I have a 1996 immobilised 1.3 CG13DE Micra K11, I experienced problems when placing P10 Primera Throttle Body, Injectors & ECU.

I think this is because of the immobiliser, because with the K11 ECU, car works fine with P10 injectors & P10 TB except a rich fuel/air mixture, you can see it through the exhaust.

With the P10 ECU, immobiliser light signals.. Fuel pump doesn't work, which I start the fuel pump manually, etc.. did not help as you can guess because of the immobiliser.

I think replacing the wiring loom with a non-immobilised early 1992-1995 Micra is an option which I couldn't find in Turkey at the moment. Can anyone has a better idea than changing the wiring loom? maybe some of you experienced the same problem.

Regards from Turkey

Better yet - remove all the P10 gear and leave all the Micra injectors, ECU, throttlebody etc in place.

NO matter what ANYONE says - you're trying to run an ECU that is designed for a bigger motor. THIS IS NOT IDEAL FOR PERFORMANCE.

Would you rather have nice smooth power delivery with efficient fuel economy? Or would you rather have jerky acceleration with poor economy?

i have driven for a few years with the 1.6 TB/ECU/injectors. it is a brilliant modification and i reccomend it to everyone. it adds real power and the performance increase is easily noticable. of course its not best having a 1.6 ecu controlling the 1.3 engine, but thats a price to pay for cheap tuning. its definately better and faster to have it than not have it. my engine is never jerky, throttle response is good. idle is smooth at all times.
imutluay i suggest you look out for a pre 96 loom. if that fails then nissan can disable/remove the immobiliser from your car at a cost. you also need a pre 96 1.6 ecu as i tried a younger one and it wouldnt work even on my 1995 non nats micra. i use a 94 1.6 ecu.

It also wont work at all with a VTC enabled ECU. SOme GA's around the world came with variable cam timing on the itnake cam. If the ECU doesnt sense the VTC working it will fault.

Also, dont the GA's have a knock sensor? Thats another reason it won't work properly. SR20's go spastic when they have a knock sensor problem and the CG just doesnt have one so I wonder what might happen.

Thanks for the answers Polar & YOM, that's the answers I'm looking for. I'm still searching for the wiring loom.

1) Which part is enough if I change the wiring loom with a prev 96? or do I have to buy all of the wiring loom?

2) Disabling the immobiliser at a Nissan Dealer is enough? it will work if pinouts of the 1.6 K11 immobilised ECU & 1.6 Early P10 ECU are the same.

3) Do you think I can fit a RHD wiring loom to my LHD Micra? Note that my Micra is a rally car on which I can cut or add cables to the wiring loom & drill holes to the chasis.

You can check my web site about Rally Micra if you want;

i'm not sure i can help you further, i just know that nissan can disable it if they want to. but it will be cheaper to get a salvaged wiring loom. if you find a micra then just stripp out all the loom you can, its just the time involved to do that. certainly would need the loom around the ignition/dash and anything the ecu socket wiring links to.

Why does running the GA16 TB/ECU/injectors give you a "noticeable" performance increase?

What is different?

For something to be "noticeable" I'd be expecting a lot more than just a couple of percent increase in power.

did you notice any difference when fitting performance exhaust header/manifold? the tb mod gives a considerable amount more feel of power than the manifold does. straight away you can feel the extra urge of torque pulling away.
its a larger throttle body so it has the same effect as the throttle body kits that mulholland etc. do for the cg13 in japan. just a cheap version of it.

Polar, I know that second-hand cars & parts are very cheap in your countries, but in Turkey things are pretty much different. Economic health is not good (not too bad), because of this situation second hand cars & parts are half of their new prices, so if you go to junk-yard, you can buy the second-hand parts from %50 sometimes even %75 of its new price, according to part is in stock or not & part's supply time if it isn't in stock at its Dealer.

That's why it's not a option to strip a car, most of the cars are stripped already by it's owners in the junk-yard stores, and parts are available one by one, you can look & choose a stripped part.

I'm looking for the parts & cars on Ebay everytime, it's like heaven to us :) very very cheap.

thats a shame. i think i'm keeping my micra for at least another 6 months before i scrap it now. at that point a loom would become available. but that doesnt help you now.

i totaly forgot to suggest that. yes that seems by far the best way to go, if the loom is hard for you to get. and the bonus is you can get it all setup better on the rolling road with a remap. just needs to be a piggyback that can adapt the maf, or if not a standalone ecu.
