tailgate micro switch

Hi just brought a 2003 1.0l micra e for my sons 18th birthday, unfortunatley the rear tailgate will not open. Any ideas gratefully received

Have you tried removing the boot panel that covers the wiring from inside the boot and poping it open from inside.. .. havnt got a picture ATM x

I`ve removed the panel but cannot see any way to open the hatch. I know the handbook says that there is a sliding lever but I cannot find it.

have you tried a search on "boot" in the k12 section pibs ? it found 180 relevant threads when i checked yesterday
