Supercharging without remap

Hypothetically, could I fit a supercharger and larger injectors and just keep shaving the supercharger pulley dia down until the car hits an af ratio of just above 12, retard timing a little bit and skip the map? Supercharger boost is a bit more predictable than turbo boost after all.
 
Eaton from a small merc should be clutchless. This makes the whole supercharging idea suddenly about half the price, even if the gains might not be major. But I'd be all set up ready for more boost when can afford a map. Guess I'm keeping my eye out for a cheap m45...
