Can anyone suggest something good to seal a sump. Mine had a slight leek, so removed it and cleaned it up, used liquid gasket that said on it recommended for up to 10 litre sumps and now its leaking worse than before? Its gonna be a pain taking it a part again.

i use the cheapo gun/silicon thingy paul, you did,nt butcher the flange getting it off did you :wasntme: (you have to be very careful eh)

loctite stuff from halfords, its about £16 and its a tube that you squeeze the lever down. this stuffs lethal though cause once it dries your bending sumps to get them back off

did ya fully degrease the engine & sump surfaces and the rubber seal piece with solvent like isopropyl alchohol or brake cleaner? it has to be clean n dry cos sealant wouldn't bond properly to a dirty oily surface.

i use either the black locktite sealant from halfords or polyurethane sealant from Partco. apply constant bead along the sump with no gaps. give em at least few hours to cure.
