i just put sum 17.5cm infiniti co-axial speakers in the front of my micra, and they are crackly as fook wen any bass goes thru them (which i understand)

but, whenever i turn a corner or go over a speed bump,m they just go off completley :S both of them

any ideas?

also, they are too deep for the holes so they are held in by 1 screw till i can get spacers or summit sorted out lol

first of all get em fitted correctly. eg sat in the holes proper. Make some MDF rings if u have to. 2nd if they crackly they may be blown. on a set of my vibes i got i touched the cone and they would work. let go of cone and they would stop working. They were crackling too when touched.. So because they were brand new i took em back and got replacements. :)

rite, mine are 2nd hand, so i cant take them back really lol

fitted them proper today, well kinda, they are bodged in with 2 screws, guna look into sum rings soon see if thats any better, they still dont like bass goin thuru them :S dunn why, but apart from that they sound good now, and it was a loose connection making them go off ;) sorted today :)

If they dont like Bass going through them, then the previous owner might have really had them going hard. Thus, wanting to get rid of them ;)

They could be blown or just very heavily used. Buying new is always a better option.

so shud co axials be ok to cope with bass?

i dnt know the first thing about ICE lol, my knowledge is strictly engines and bodywork, so im startig to think ive been had

i only buyed them coz they was cheap :S lol

if your expecting the same bass to come from them as a 12" sub then they will sound bad when u ramp up volume/bass. need a sub :)

You're more likely to be clipping the amp in your HU. The standard speakers in my K11 could handle a reasonable level of bass off my HU before sounding bad.
