strange grinding noise

Hi chaps, recently bought an si over the weekend and on the way down from Carlisle noticed a strange grinding noise coming from the near side. well after a few days off trying stuff I jacked it up at the front end and ran it and realised the near side wheel was only running at half speed comlpaired to the off side. would this suggest a duff box or can it be salvageable? Cheers for the help guys found it was a duff wheel bearing so guna strip it off and pop a fresh one in at work
