Stiff gear change in Nissan Micra K12 ...... short shifter kit?

When I change gear in my car it seems like its a bit stiff and that I'm having to force it into gear, mostly with the first, second and third gears. Is this just the way the gearbox is in a Nissan Micra K12 or is it getting a little worn out?

Either way, I was wondering if it'd be possible to make shifting gear easier by using some new parts for the gearbox that could smoothen out the transition such as a short shifter kit? I know the idea behind the short shifter is that it puts the gearstick closer to the driver and therefore shortens the distance required to change gear, but will this make much of a difference to the gear change outside of drivability? Thanks guys :)

i changed my gearbox oil with new oil and my micra started to get stiff to put into gears 1st 2nd and 3rd then changed oil again for a diffrent brand and it went easy for a bit then stiff again ive just learned to live with it and done atleast 10k miles since problem started and its never got any worse

The gear of K12 MICRA becomes very difficult to change gear by a little wear. 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg

I made short shifter before.
It lengthened below the fulcrum of a shift lever and changed the lever ratio.

It is in a normal state.

A box is cut in order to make a shift lever fulcrum position high.

Screw processing is carried out in order to extend below a fulcrum.

A shift wire connection part is welded to a nut, and adjusted.

A transverse direction lever is also extended.
Since it is a plastic component, it has reinforced with the metal plate.

The shift lever fulcrum position was raised 40mm.
The aluminum plate carried out rivet fixation by a thickness of 3mm.

An operational feeling is very best.
But if the abrasion of a gear is intense, a feeling will worsen.

mines got 110k mile on it now so a presume it could be worth finding a low mileage one from breakers will the one in me car eventually get worse ?? or end up getting stuck in gear??

So, candy, you lengthened the lever above the gear 'box' and below it, but lengthened the part below it more? And when you made these changes did you have to change anything else apart from the length of the gearstick such as the gear pulleys or anything?

And does anyone know about the compatability of a short shifter kit from a Nissan Pulsar Sunny? Apparently the Micras and the Pulsars can use the same short shifter kit .......

How did you get the black box off from around the gear stick? Both the one that goes around the gear stick and the handbrake and the one above the gear pulleys

The only problem is that the gear stick isn't a screw on; its a slide on. Not only that, but the gear stick is encased inside a black box which covers the gear pulleys; not to mention there's a console cover that surrounds the handbrake and the gear-stick as one unit, and I can't seem to get it to come off ....

Anyone have any past experience in lengthening handbrake operating levers? Ive just put some Sparco Pro 2000 bucket seats into the car and the handbrake is a little awkward to operate .... I'm going to do some work on the gear shifter lever to make it longer and to shorten the throw so that changing gear is easier. How would I go about lengthening the handbrake? Just attack a metal rod that would be fed from the position of the new handbrake lever and that pushes down on the button or some other method .....?
