After not even looking at the MSC for ages, i'm back. Unfortuently, 1st year at uni tooks its toll, both on my time and my health - but feeling up to actually doing some work on "the beast" this summer.
The old girl has been ok, only giving me a fright the other day when everything electrical in the car gave up, no dash lights or anything, and def no turnover. Breakdown guy came out, got it started pretty easily, he said he wasn't sure what was wrong as battery wasn't particually drained - although the alternator did give a few strange readings while idle-ing.
Passed MOT today, but think we have found the problem. The starter motor is "sticking" according to the mechanic so they are replacing it. I guess this might have been the cause of the problems the other day, maybe drawing to much current from a slightly discharged battery trying to start? Does that sound feesable?
