» CMF MemberI've been battling with my starter motor for a few years now. The problem is that the starter's shaft collects some dirt and thus the motor cannot manage to push out the little gearwheel enough, and obviously the engine won't start. I've taken out the starter motor several times, attached it to a battery an driven it manually while cleaning it up. Thereafter the starter motor works well for about half a year before it gets dirty enough again, and then I'm facing the same procedure again. I've tried different types of vaseline on the shaft but haven't found any that would have satisfied me yet. So have anyone tried any lubricant etc. that would be adeshive enough for this kind of use?
