Tried sorting NorthWest meet a while back with Wilsonian which failed!

Well, gonna try again!

So people please show some interest and show everyone that it's not only the NE that can have good meets (you guys can attend if ya want), any suggestions about what people wanna do (bowling, pizza etc)

Event - NPOC/MSC/AOC Northwest Mini meet
Date and Time - Sun 6th March @ 1pm
Location - Ashton Moss Retail park
Directions from M60:
Clockwise around M60: If your coming from Bury/Bolton way (past failsworth/holinwood) take the ashton turn off (J23 M60), and get in the right hand lane, and turn right. You will then be on a 3 lane dual carriage way type thing stick in the outside lane (its a 40mph speed limit) and you will go past a speed camera (can be very sensitive, so be careful). There will be a slip road on the right hand side, get in that lane, and turn right. Continue to the next set of lights (about 200m down this road) and turn right at the lights. Your now on the road which takes you to the promised land! (KFC)

Anticlockwise around M60: If your coming from stockport, come off at the ashton turn off, and and turn left at the end of the off ramp. You'll then come to a set of traffic lights, go straight on at these lights (wait for it to turn green first!) Continue to the next set of lights (about 200m down this road) and turn right at the lights. Your now on the road which takes you to the promised land! (KFC)

Everbody happy with that - if so ill post it on NPOC and AOC when i get back in from work

as i may go down see the sister in blackpool for the weekend and ten in turn come over meet u lot

and since i would normally come off at junction 32 to go to hers at st anne's
it would only be a 15-30minute extra down the road. 45 mins from hers to the reebok stadium

What time are you thinking of holding this because i work weekends (sat till 6 and sun till 4) - but the Reebock stadium is only 10 mins drive from mine...

I would be more thinking sunday at around 5ish could be a good time.. not to late to start giving enough time for a good natter before people need to shoot off because of work in morning?

Mate - keep us in the loop will ya via PM or something incase I dont see this because ill help to gather the NPOC lot... maybe somebody could badger the AOC lot as well??

ohhhh bolton - other side of manc. i'll do it for the simple fact splank came all the way to ours!

i shouldn't have a problem with the date however i no longer have the alloys on my car (due to tyer issues)

right we could with picking a date and location...seems to be a fair bit of interest on the NPOC....

PS - the actual Reebok stadium and surrounding retail areacar park IS out of the question - they do not like ANY type of meets at all... im sure there is another car park around there that we could use... ill have a look tonight since im going past there anyway on my way to the bolton regular meet...

i might attend it depends on my shifts at work.

the reebok would be ideal but if we were to be moaned at then thers no point.

i live in rochdale, it takes me 20-25mins to get to the regular bolton meet on thrusdays when i go!

OK there's 6 defo's and 6 maybes, we now need to sort a venue and something to do!

Suggestions welcome as am losing ideas, was thinking sandbrook park in rochdale as it has a maccy's and pizza hut

the new bowling alley is opening in march on sandbrook but not sure what date! i work at that maccys lol.

could have a pool tournement at pilsworth or summat as well, just a suggestion tho!

there are a fair few interested on the NPOC as i say.... most are happy just meeting up without the additional extras such as bownling... TBH im kinda the same
they also seem happy with around bolton... although i would be happy with a sunday due to work

I'm more aiming to a Sunday myself if anyone has any objections to it being the 6th then?
I was thinking/hoping we meet somewhere where we could grab a quick bite, was only thinking bowling etc cause if police turned up we could say we're waiting for the others to turn up as we're bowling! But am not really bothered as someone would have to pay then go about getting the cash of everyone! Too much work for me

I have aboyt 7 interested... but wont be able to say 100% yes or no till a confirmed date...

now time... i can see if i can get the day off - but i dont finish work till 4... there are a few people wanting to travel for a couple of hrs as well on the NPOC - ill see if i can book the day off if everybody else can make it earlier?

as i say - reebok stadium is out of bounds as far as a meet is concerned unless we can get permission off them..

Its a bit further away from bolton - but hows about Botany Bay? I know they have a huge car park and is straight off the motorway...

Have heard of Botany Bay, do you think it would be a problem.
Also, seeing as I can only find local here, Morrisons Car park in Rochdale on the Sunday is empty around 5pm on.

right - i have managed to book the day off work - which is nice...

i think most on NPOC would like it kinda early so they have time to meet and are able to get home early cos of work in morning... say 12/1ish so i think that puts most places out of question... i could always email or ring up botany bay to see what they say???

im not to bothered what we do, bowling, pizza etc....... but if sandbrook park bowling alley is open, the people who r building it have made a second floor, which is having a laser quest!

laser quest would prob cost abit but its only a suggestion!

Have you considered some of the car-boot sites around?

If anyone is in CruiseCheshire (or even better, knows someone who runs it) could they check how much renting the site in Warrington is?

I know that Warrington is a bit out of the way for most people, but it'll give us an idea.

i emailed Botany Bay last night asking for permission... would be an IDEAL location really littraly straight off the motorway...

neah - blackpool is to far out - i have people commin over from the NE, Lancaster and a couple further a field who have said Bolton is ok for them... there will be somewhere...

If going somewhere like Botany Bay I would like to get the owners permission first because otherwise its just not nice and they could end up calling the police...

right update:

Just taken a drive up to the stadium and had a quick look around... TBH there is nothing there that stands out to be a good meet place...
however the next junction down, Chorley there is quite a good car park - counil owned and i think its free on sundays so as long as we park in the bays there should be no issue...

Its more or less straight of the motorwayJ8 M61 motorway there is a MCDs, KFC, Burgerking within spitting distance, and also a tesco just 2-3 mins down the road....

I know it sounds like i want this meet right next to my home - but unless we can find another spot which has food facilities and toilets (kinda importent me thinks esp with people driving up to an hr to get there!) - i think this is gona be as good as any...

for anybody who knows Chorley, if you know where MCDs is, then the car park im talking about is the one next to it... also a possability is the car park behind that one (as you go under the railway bridge...

it aint near any bowling allys or cinemas - but TBH i cant see the point in organising a car meet and then do something that does not involve our motors lol

Having facilities is a bonus! If it's council owned we could try getting permission!

well we could do with finalising details by the end of this week at latest to give people enough time to make plans...

if its a normal car park, then i would not bother trying to get permission... anything thats owned by a company - such as botany bay we need to get permission to use the land before we go otherwise it could turn out quite nasty

Just a suggestion for a venue, I'm not sure about 'Morrisons' car park in Bolton, just before you get to the train station. I know that's quiet on a Sunday I believe...
