Shortenin gear stick

Might be a daft question but it better to ask than do anyfink rong

I was just wondering if any1 has cut there gear stick down shortened the length and if they did if it arose any problems and if it a good idea or a bad 1 thanks les

p.s i searched for this alreasy but not to good at this forum stuff yet so apologies if it already been asked thankinyou pples :grinning:

This is your best bet as it's tried and tested

i cut my old one down and it did work
just make sure you unbolt the link as it will vibrate when sawing it
when i done mine i didnt and two weeks later the gearbox was making a bad clonking noise

manda had the gearstick on her old micra cut down. But doesn't really make a difference unless you have a proper short shifter.

it problely only shortens the throw by 15-20%

i cut my old bluebird one down as it was like a buses gearstick, it is noticably better but not as good as a quickshift obviosly, good budget mod imo when quickshifts arnt avaliable

Does any1 have any little tinkers i can do with my k11 that are either cheap or free :wasntme: just until ii pay off insurance and get bk into some money
