setting up tdc+timing marks

hey, lets say i bought an engine without cams in it, but still has the top timing chain attached... does anyone know how to set up the bottom chain so that i can then set the top chain and put the cams back in.. the workshop manual only has timing marks if you had the whole bottom oil pump cover of, but i cant be f'd... hope some of that makes sense

i think the dots on the idler sprocket need to be at 1 oclock and 5 oclock (with the 2nd from left crank pulley notch set), and the cams set as in the pic ( the inlet will bite a 3tho feeler at about 25-30deg btdc and the exh will bite at about 25-30deg atdc)

i think i've got it sussed.. wait n see if i break it
