'Scuse my ignorance, but am I right in thinking that this will not damage the car but it also won't pass an an MOT as the car is meant to have a cat for MOT purposes?

It's just that this could be the quick'n'nasty fix I need, there's 'fibres' coming out the back of my exhaust and I think it's the insides of the cat coming out.

It is possible it could fail the mot, but yet again I know LOADS of people who have got through without the cat. All yuou need to be is change it back a week before, then the day after, lol I'll find the time.

the tube is stainless and the flanges may be mild. i cant remember exactly. it used to be mine.
