What should i use to remove the sticky stuff holding my rub strips to the car? I've spent ages trying to get it off with petrol but it's just not happening.
Try kerosene. It will not hurt the paint and is good at removing tar etc. I use it all the time where the cars have picked up tar and ****e say from new roadworks etc.
AHHHH nothing works! I've tried petrol, Tar remover, boiling water but that sticky stuff just won't come off and a body shop quoted me £50! I wish i hadn't bothered! I remember an article here a while ago about some one using a caramel wheel? Any ideas?
There was a good deal of discussion about what to use to remove side moulding adhesive on msprotege (an american mazda site) which flowed onto oz mazda forums. The result of many people trying many things led to the conclusion that 3M genral purpose adhesive remover was/is the only product that works effectively with out damaging paint. I dont know who stocks it but it maybe worth a few phone calls.
