Roof Rack

I have a K12 Micra roof rack from my old K12, but i appear to have lost the key. Is the key actually needed to fit the roof rack as i am looking at selling it in the future.

if its a thule locking roof rack , and if its locked , yes you will need the key , to un lock and fit it .

if its not locked then you can still use it.

which type is it ?

not a clue my friend, it came with the car when i bought it. It's not locked as far am im aware, i will have to check before reselling i guess.

Anyone know how hard the keys are too get?

there are only a few available for the micra , if its a thule , it will be written on , the one made by nissan isnt lockable , u could try doing an e bay search for it, to identify which one u have and the retail value.

i think replacement keys might be hard to get , u could possibly buy new locks with new keys as some of the locking mechanisms are easily swapped as long as they arent locked , and yours isnt .
