rods

hi,
besides changing the pistons is it necessary to change the rods if i built a turbo on my micra with 0,7 or 0,8 bar of pressure or are they strong enough?

if you change the pistons you might as well change the rods at the same time...makes sense...no? imagine you change the pistons (very strong) but leave the stock rods (very weak under pressue)and they snap, your pistons could easily get damaged in the process, as well as you bank account!

plus if you can get the pistons made with the same company as the rods then they might charge you a little less.

although a few people have been happy running very low boost, having loads of fun and not doing anything with the internals of their cg13de...very tough little engine....just with forged internals makes it tough aswell as pullet proof.
