Reverse Switch

Hi Guys My wifes Micra is playing up ! The reversing light is flickering on and off. If I hold the Gearstick back it stays on. When I let go, it may, or may not go out ? I read the Gearbox Oil needs to be drained to Repair or Replace the switch ? Is this a commom fault, can I fix it easily ? Any help is wellcome - Thanks - Mickyh7

Haven't heard of this one before.
I'd be guessing dodgy bulb, plug, wiring or earth connection first.

it,s pretty common on k10,s, so i,m guessing it,s a pre98 1.0.
i think it,s just wear on the switch plunger/selector rod notch, and a drain would,nt be needed if your quick

i dont know tbh.
personaly, i would probably see if i could grind some metal off, to screw it in more (but i,m just tight lol)

Thanks Frank2. Thats, what I was thinking down the lines of- Then to the breakers for a used one if it does'nt work. Thanks for your help. When this rain stops,I'll have a look. Tomorrow I hope. Cheers - mickyh7
