Removing boot trim on a k12 (to access boot switches)

TriNode

Hi,
My GF has a k12 now, and it's got issues with the boot not opening when the button is pressed, it doesn't have the emergency release lever that some do, so I've got to get at the switches / connectors from within the boot. I know what to do once I get in, but how do I get the trim panel off without breaking it?

I'll be sat in the boot with it closed, do I just pull? are there any clips I need to be careful of?

Thanks,

Ant

I've recently had to replace my boot switch and stuff cos the button had came awayy inside.
The panel on the inside of the boot should just pop off, pretty simple. Once you have it off, the boot switches and stuff will be 2 wires, easy to check or unplug. If you need a new handle and switch set like I did; dealers charge around £80 but I got mine from Ebay for £60 primed and just sprayed.

Please for heavens sake though. I wasn't too safety cautious with my own car but if you do decide to disconnect the battery for your safety(shouldn't matter if ignition is off anyway...) but don't forgot to read your handbook and resetting the radio and make sure you have the code .. Else you'll have another problem on your hands!

Anyway! The switch and handle itself are just bolted on from the inside underneath the plastic panel that pops off, when putting it back on it's simple too - just line it up and give it a few taps in places till you hear the plastic pop studs go back into place.

^^ Pics of boot handle and switch after spraying ready to be fitted. If you need to do this, give me a ring and I'll help you locate your Vehicle colour code for the right colour spray.

Hope this helps Ant!!
Good luck,
Ben. :)
