I had an issue with the rear struts not holding the door up properly so I sought to buy some replacements and had thought of buying 2nd hand/new but whilst perusing the net I came across a company that fixes Gas struts. I sent them an E-mail to see if it was possible/viable/ and whether they could add some extra gas.
I had an E-mail off them the same day to say that it was possible.
So I sent them off and got them back 4 days later which is a pretty good turn around when the post is taken into consideration.
The struts are now fitted, the door rises a lot easier but is obviously harder to pull down but not really a problem.
The total cost of the struts + postage both ways + VAT:glare came to £41.65
There may be a Pair of struts that can be found cheaper elsewhere, 2nd hand ones I wouldn't know if they would be up to the job and they won't come with extra gas so I think it was worth it, plus the fact that in these hard times I'm keeping people in a Job which makes it all worth while.:grinning:
So I'd like to recommend SGS Engineering (UK) LTD in Derby.
