Problem with central locking system (unlock all the doors when starting the engine)

Hope someone can help me with my question.

It seems that all the doors in my car are unlocked once I start the engine. I did not notice this until yesterday when I found my daughter (1-year-old) opening the door while I was driving the car! Is this normal with k12 micra or is there any faulty with my car?

I can lock my car doors with the remote but this does not help because all the doors are unlocked whenever I start the engine. My car does not appear to allow me to lock the doors manually.

Any help is appreciated!

Theres a door lock switch by the handbrake lever. Have you tried pressing that when car is started,should lock all doors.

Thank you for your post. I found the switch and worked! It took me almost five years to find this switch. How silly am I!

If its a 5 door,there is also a child safety lock feature on the rear door itself. Open the rear door,on the same side of the door as the rear handles,where the door meets the rear wing is a small latch in black that says lock on it,push it down to activate child safety,and will not switch off unless you move it back to unlock.
