Power through Firewall - Micra 2001

Ello, been reading forums to death but to no avail.

Got a micra Activ 2001. Trying to get power to a pair of amps through the firewall. All the guides i have seen theres a nice rubber grommit that people just slit and pass through (Next to the fuel filter). My problem is all the grommits have pipes in :-S , I am guessing aircon doesnt help :-(

Is it just a case of drill a hole through the body work into the dash?

Managed to sort it. Went out of the engine via the hole near the coolant bottle, down the inside of the wing / sill, then in via the door grommit. Bit worried that the power lead could get a splash of water (Hoping the the plastic sleeve on the cable is waterproof) but i may put it inside some split loom to make sure.
