Power Steering Feels Heavy.........?????

Hi I have a 2001 facelift (bosch coil pack model) 1.0L Auto CVT with power steering.
Problem is the steering feels heavy compared with other cars I've driven. The power steering fluid is clean and I can't see any leaks on the driveway or unusual noise.....?

Any ideas would be very welcome

Are you sure it is working? is there a noticeable different between the steering when engine is off and running?

yes that's a good point I will role it down a hill with the engine off and see the difference....! it just doesn't feel as easy and light as other cars. Her-in-doors has a Suzuki Jimny and that is much lighter by comparison

just do it at a stand still no? try to turn the wheel, then start the engine and try again...

today tried the hill test - the power steering works but just doesn't feel as light as it should (or I think it should). Tyre pressure is as it should be and fluid is clean. Going to try bleeding the system just in case there is air trapped somewhere. (engine running cap off steering wheel side to side) see if that helps
