Power steering BHP

Hi

does anyone have any proper facts on how much BHP is taken from the engine to run PAS. I trying to find out if it worth while converting my lads autograss car from PAS to manual streering.

half hp to power the pump and half hp friction losses maybe ?

I did a lot of research on this early this year.

No figures for a Micra, but plenty out there for other cars. A PS pump is going to be quite similar from car to car.

Basically they take anywhere from 0.5 to 4bhp depending on load.

I am looking to convert to electric PAS either Saxo electric PAS pump or Corsa B electric steering column, the later is my preferred option....
